Lake Moodemere Estate — Historic Residence Transformed into a Modern Winery Venue in Victoria

Located in the picturesque region of Lake Moodemere, Victoria, this landmark project transformed a 1924 residence into the stunning restaurant and cellar door of Lake Moodemere Estate. The renovation was carefully planned to retain the building’s historical character, preserving as many original floorboards and period finishes as possible while upgrading the structure for modern use.

The project involved significant structural work, including the replacement of termite-damaged walls and the removal and rebuilding of internal walls to create an open-plan layout suitable for events and everyday use. A spacious timber deck was constructed, providing an ideal outdoor entertaining area with views over the estate’s beautiful surrounds.

Inside, the space was completely modernised with new bathrooms and a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen designed to meet the operational needs of a contemporary winery venue. Throughout the build, sustainable and durable materials were selected to ensure longevity and minimal environmental impact.
